By expanding meaningful, transferable college credit in high schools throughout Oregon, NW Promise ensures each student is equipped to pursue the career and college path of their choosing.
NW Promise is a collaborative effort between Northwest Regional ESD and the high schools and higher education institutions in northwest Oregon. We focus on cooperation between high school teachers and college faculty to ensure students are working and learning at a college-level, specifically seeking to reach historically underserved students, including students of color and first-generation college goers.
Because it has different requirements than traditional dual credit programs, NW Promise allows more high school teachers to participate, which opens the door for a greater number of high school students to receive college credit while still in high school.
Now in its fourth year, NW Promise is excited to serve the 33,000 students in Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook and Washington county high schools.
NW PROMISE PARTNERS WITH DISTRICTS TO HELP ENSURE THAT EVERY STUDENT IS EQUIPPED TO PURSUE THE CAREER AND COLLEGE PATH OF THEIR CHOOSING. NW PROMISE PROVIDES:
Sponsored, transferable dual credit options to help students recognize their college and career potential
Stipends and support to teachers interested in offering sponsored dual-credit courses
Resources for schools to host field trips and other career and college exposure opportunities
